One Lion is a campaign by Vandrezzer FC to promote diversity & inclusiveness; while standing against corruption, match fixing, hooliganism and bribery in Nigerian football. Our aim is to make everyone feel valued throughout our club, stadium and wider community.
Through the One Lion network, we will work with everyone, from young children in schools to grassroots football clubs; through community sporting groups and with our senior men’s and ladies’ teams to create a club and family atmosphere, where everyone feels welcome.
CELEBRATING UNITY IN DIVERSITY THROUGH EDUCATION
Using the power of the Vandrezzer FC brand, our players and the game itself, we work with children and young people in schools across Nigeria to talk about unity in diversity as well as the values of friendship, respect and teamwork. Every year, we will hold a competition for young people to develop their own unity-in-diversity campaigns and pledges. The winners would have the singular opportunity to be hosted at the Ikot-Ekpene Township Stadium, and have their photos taken on the pitch, in a special meet and greet with some of the VFC first team players.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO FANS WITH DISABILITY OR IMPAIRMENT
We are proud to be launching Vandrezzer Disabled Supporters’ Association (The Dynamic Supporters Club) – the club’s representative body for disabled fans would work to ensure our disabled and non-disabled communities are afforded the same opportunities. We plan to consciously retrofit our home ground to provide safe and convenient access to our physically challenged fans. On match days, we have made provisions for motorized wheelchairs and mobile lift to enable physically persons have access to reserved section of the stand for an unobstructed view to the field of play.
Our disabled ticketing policy would provide for discounted tickets for disabled fans and their carers; developing policies which take into consideration the needs of our disabled fans; and ensuring stadium facilities are as accessible as possible, including earpieces for visually-impaired supporters, disability drop-off and pick-up points, and radar key-fitted accessible toilets.
PROMOTING STRONG PARTNERSHIPS
Through One Lion, we plan to work with a range of charities and organizations, in support of unity-in-diversity, anti-hooliganism and anti-corruption campaigns in the Nigerian football space. Avenues would be enabled to propagate and continue to project this message throughout the season. Supporters can also play an important part in this fight against hooliganism, match-fixing, bribery & corruption on a matchday.
If you witness such behaviour during a game, please send a text message or call +2347034443601 with the stand, row, seat number and description of the offender and incident. Be assured that all information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
